Product Visioning – Defining the Future to Drive Strategic Decisions

Company: Cashrewards
Project: Cashrewards Product Visioning - Horizon 1&2
Role: Direction & Strategy

To shape the long-term direction of our product, I led a series of strategic visioning initiatives designed to provide stakeholders with a clear, tangible view of the future product landscape. These visioning efforts enabled the C-suite to make informed financial and architectural decisions upfront, securing early buy-in and alignment across leadership.

Horizon Visioning

By mapping out future product horizons, we provided clarity to our product teams, allowing them to plan more effectively and prioritize initiatives with confidence. The success of this approach extended beyond product, influencing other business functions by improving forecasting capabilities and driving greater operational efficiency.

Providing design and data-led opportunities for the product backlog

Through this visioning work, we also uncovered new, data-led opportunities that extended beyond the immediate business roadmap. By leveraging user insights, market trends, and experimentation data, we identified unmet customer needs and areas for differentiation that weren’t initially prioritised.

These insights fed directly into the product backlog, enabling teams to explore high-value initiatives that complemented core business objectives while driving long-term growth. This approach not only ensured we delivered on strategic priorities but also created space for innovation, allowing the product to evolve in response to real user behaviour rather than just top-down directives.

We challenged the status quo

This vision-led framework became a critical tool for aligning cross-functional teams, ensuring scalability, and proactively addressing business needs before they became bottlenecks.
